Tea Cup Bonsai

Mini bonsai in a tea cup...bringing you new ideas to spruce up your mini bonsai.

Tea Cup Bonsai

“YAAAAAAAM SENG” Have a drink on me. Bonsai in Chinese tea cups...an innovative way to display your mini bonsai.

If you are planning to pickup bonsai as a hobby, my advice to you is to start by creating small and mini bonsai. They are attractive and can be easily created within a short period of time. Select a hardy plant species like jasmine and start from seeds planting or stem cuttings.

Miniature bonsai are plants that are less than 4 inches tall measuring from base to the top of the plant. Here are some mini bonsai which I have created and planted in small Chinese tea cups of different shapes and sizes.

An ideal decorative ornament for display.

There are many ways you can spruced up your mini bonsai to look nice and beautiful. Instead of using the traditional Chinese miniature bonsai pots which are expensive and hard to find. However, you can use alternative containers for you mini bonsai like the Chinese tea cups. They are cheap, beautiful and comes in different shapes and sizes.

Below are some my of my mini bonsai creations potted in decorative Chinese tea cups placed on small display stands. They look great for indoors or office decorations.

All the plants shown below are sui mui or jasmine. These plants are less than 4 inches tall. If you need more info, you can read all about it in my coming new bonsai cd entitled “Bonsai Art CD2.”
